History of EZRTools
EZRTools was designed and developed by Clay Martin. Clay has been working with computers since the 1978. Over the years Clay has used a wide variety of hardware, operating systems, programming languages, and applications. One valuable lessoned he learned was that nothing helps productivity like having good tools.
Clay’s wife, Lori, used the SAS language quite extensively in her work. Although the SAS systems included an editor, the editor provided few tools. Lori had switched to using SPF/PC as the editor. This product was simply a PC version of a MVS application, SPF. SPF is IBM’s editor for the mainframe. Defiantly better than the SAS editor, SPF offered flexibility and many tools. Problem was, it was on the mainframe (slow unreliable connection), not the PC. Not so of Multi-Edit.
Clay introduced Lori to Multi-Edit. While Multi-Edit’s support of many programming languages was renowned, it did not include native support for SAS. After Clay gave Lori the first couple of tools, she created an extensive wish list. Never daunted by a challenge, Clay added some more tools. Another wish list, more templates. More wishes, so Clay wrote some power tools. So, what began as a few "nice to have" tools for his wife, turned into a robust add-on package for Multi-Edit!
Clay currently works with his wife at Martin Works, Inc., a computer solutions company located in Susquehanna, PA. You can learn more about Martin Works, Inc., Clay, and Lori by visiting the Martin Works, Inc. web site.
