The first step: You type ift followed by a space at whatever
indent level you want. This causes placement of the control structure
at the place where "ift" was typed. The expansion is shown below.

The next step: Because the first "parameter" is highlighted you can begin typing
its value immediately. The first parameter in this case is conditional statement.

When that has been entered, you press Cntl-i to move to the next
parameter.

Now the next hint can be replaced.

Some templates will have more hints that need to be filled in. Pressing
Cntl-i repeatedly will move from one to the next. To go back to any that were
initially skipped, move the cursor above the line that the un-filled
hint is on, and press Cntl-i again.
